Capital Metro Service Information for the Austin Marathon
AUSTIN, Texas (Feb. 17, 2017) - Due to the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon, Capital Metro will detour several Local bus routes and MetroRapid service within the race area on Saturday, Feb. 18 and Sunday, Feb. 19.
Pre-event detours will begin Feb. 18 as race organizers make preparations for the following day. The following routes will be detoured from start of service into race day: 17, 100, 412, 481, 483, 484, 485 and 486.
On Feb. 19, all routes entering downtown will be affected, including both MetroRapid routes. Detours will be in place from start of service until approximately 6 p.m. The following routes will be affected: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 30, 37, 100, 228, 320, 323, 325, 331, 338, 801, 803 and UT Shuttles. Customers will have two main transfer points: Red River/12th and Burnet/Ashdale.
During the race, approximately 460 bus stops will be closed. Riders will see “stop closed” signs on all of the affected stops.
