Installation of New Bus Shelters

In June, Capital Metro began work on a program that will place about 125 new bus shelters throughout the region's transit system. These aren't going to replace older amenities, but are new shelters for bus stops that currently don't offer our customers protection from the elements.

The prep work started last month, and installation of the shelters will begin in September. That means your stop may be closed briefly while we lay new concrete and prepare it for the new shelter. During this work, we'll serve a temporary stop near your regular one. The temporary stops will be clearly marked.

So if you see a sign at your bus stop like the one below, know that there will be a day or two when you'll have to use a temporary stop instead of the normal location. But that means that you'll be getting a new bus shelter soon!

Thanks for your patience and thanks for riding!
