MetroRail Service Disruption and Alternate
ServicesJune 15-29: Lakeline-Leander Stations
construction work along the track, Capital Metro will suspend MetroRail service
between Lakeline and Leander Stations for two weeks in
Alternative transit services are available to customers:
- MetroExpress Route 985
provides all-day weekday service between Leander, Lakeline and downtown. Commuter Single Ride: $3.50/Day Pass: $7
buses to accommodate more customers traveling between downtown and Leander. Some
of the additional buses serving Route 985 may be blue instead of red -- check
the bus' digital route display.
- Uses the MopPac Express lane for faster
travel to downtown.
- With some select trips, riders can travel
from Leander Station to Lakeline Station to make an easy connection
- MetroExpress Route
987 serves UT and downtown with weekday (morning and early evening) service.
Commuter Single Ride: $3.50/Day Pass:
- There are no additional buses serving
this route and trips are not timed for easy transfers to MetroRail.
Shuttle Route 450 offers select service connecting Lakeline and Leander
Stations. These shuttles are free.
northbound shuttle each weekday morning (8:37 a.m.) from Lakeline to Leander
- One southbound shuttle each weekday evening (5:02 p.m.) from
Leander to Lakeline.
- Friday evenings - June 15, 22 & 29:
- The first southbound shuttle leaves Leander
Station at 5:02 p.m.
- The last northbound shuttle leaves Lakeline
Station at 2:42 a.m.
Capital Metro is
investing in the future of MetroRail. Major improvement projects along the
32-mile MetroRail line include a federally mandated Positive
Train Control system to ensure the long-term safety of the service.

Catch a Rail Connector bus
Take the train to MLK
Station and then hop on a Connector bus to take you to th e UT campus ( Route 465). At Kramer
Station, Route 466 will take you
to The Domain or the Pickle Research Campus.
Night rail service
MetroRail trains run late on Friday and Saturday nights. Enjoy Austin's
downtown, where there's always something going on, or destinations at any stop
along the line. The last train leaves Downtown Station at 1:45 a.m. Friday and
2:30 a.m. Saturday, and trains begin service at 4 p.m. most Saturdays. If

guaranteed ride home
If you're worried about how you'll get home in case
of an emergency and thus hesitant to take the train, then we've got you covered.
The Guaranteed Ride Home
program provides registered MetroExpress, MetroFlyer, MetroRail and
MetroRideShare customers with a taxi ride home from work in the event of an
unexpected emergency. For an annual membership fee of $5, you can register and
get reimbursed for up to 4 emergency taxi rides a year.
