WHAT'S HAPPENING:
Capital MetroRail Testing Capital Metro will conduct rail testing on Thursday, Sept. 2 to determine the feasibility of midday and Friday evening rail service. Expect to see trains running most of the day.
Proposed Fiscal Year 2011 Budget Capital Metro has published a draft FY2011 operating budget and five-year Capital Improvement Plan for public comment. The Capital Metro Board will host a public hearing on the budget on Sept. 20.
January 2011 Service Change Capital Metro is seeking feedback on proposed changes to the transit system that, if approved, would take effect January 16, 2011. Click on the link to see if the changes will affect you.

Labor Day Service and Bus Detours for the Austin Triathlon In observance of the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 6, Capital Metro will operate its Sunday schedule. UT Shuttles and Capital MetroRail will not be in service, and MetroAccess subscription trips will be cancelled. Buses will also be detoured for the Austin Triathlon.
Proposed Freight Siding Project Central Texas Rail Terminal, LLC, is proposing to build and operate an ethanol receipt facility to be served by Capital Metro's freight railroad near U.S. 290 and Decker Lane. Click on the link for a project overview.
Policy Change: Tobacco Free Transit facilities In order to protect customers and employees from secondhand smoke, the Capital Metro Board of Directors has adopted a policy to make transit facilities tobacco free.
