We've added trips to several of our MetroExpress routes, and 3 of them will take advantage of MoPac's Express Lanes, letting riders bypass MoPac traffic. With 50 percent more service, faster trips to downtown and toll-free access to the fast lane, Cap Metro now gives you more choices than ever before.While Route 983 has been eliminated, its all-day service is replaced by increased service on Routes 982 and 985.

Direct to downtown

  • Route 980 North MoPac Express operates in the MoPac managed lanes, serving the New Life Park & Ride. It includes service between Round Rock and downtown twice in the morning and twice after work.
  • New Route 981 Oak Knoll Express operates in the MoPac managed lanes and serves the Pavilion and Great Hills Park & Rides before heading directly to downtown.
  • Route 985 Leander/Lakeline Direct has added trips so that it operates all day. It also uses the managed lanes and serves Leander and Lakeline Stations before heading directly to downtown.

Direct to 38th Street medical district

  • Route 982 Pavilion Express has more trips and now operates all day, serving the Pavilion and Great Hills Park & Rides before heading directly to the 38th Street medical areas.
  • Route 987: Leander/Lakeline Express operates in the managed lanes for some trips. Route 987 serves Leander and Lakeline Stations before heading directly to the 38th Street medical area.

Route 980 North MoPacExpress operates weekday service, with 11 morning and 11 evening trips! Get from Round Rock to downtown twice in the morning and twice after work. Express buses have free Wi-Fi, comfy seats and room for your bike. It saves money on tolls, gas and car maintenance ... so why fight traffic? Take your time back to log in, catch up, get crafty or wind down.

Park at the Round Rock Transit Center, at 300 W. Bagdad Ave., or at the New Life Park & Ride, 3200 Century Park Blvd. in Austin, east of MoPac near Howard Lane. Route 980 uses the managed lanes on MoPac to zoom you downtown.




A guaranteed ride home

If you're worried about how you'll get home in case of an emergency and thus hesitant to take the train, then we've got you covered. The Guaranteed Ride Home program provides registered MetroExpress, MetroFlyer, MetroRail and MetroRideShare customers with a taxi ride home from work in the event of an unexpected emergency. For an annual membership fee of $5, you can register and get reimbursed for up to 4 emergency taxi rides a year.
