Bikeshare Fare Adjustments 2025
Our CapMetro Bikeshare fares changed on August 1 for all riders. These adjustments provide CapMetro an opportunity to meet the needs of customers and efficiently use our resources, ensuring the longevity of the program while still offering some of the lowest bikeshare fares in the country.

Student Discount
The student fare was modified to become a discount for all students aged 18 and over, not exclusive to select universities. The new discount applies to individuals currently enrolled in a school program, including trade schools, nursing schools and high school. Huston-Tillotson Students and Staff can still fill out the form to get their free annual pass.
UT Parking and Transportation Services is subsidizing Bikeshare annual passes. Use the Student Discount form to get a discount code for a $30 annual pass. UT staff can email parking@utexas.edu to get a discount code for a $60 annual pass.
Ride Duration and Overage Fees
Now, all passes (even existing passes) include 30 minutes of ride time as part of the base fare before overage fees are assessed.
Additionally, the fee charged to users who exceed the allotted time per ride (“overage fee”) increased. The new fare structure changed the fee to $0.25 for every minute after the initial 30-minute base allotted time, resulting in a more individualized charge to each user.
