Our Story
The Transit Police is part of our three-team approach to our Public Safety Program. We were previously contracting TCOLE certified officers. The CapMetro Board of Directors approved the creation of a transit police in August 2021. Since then, CapMetro has hired our own officers after conducting extensive conversations with the community and employees to lay the foundations for the department. Our team obtained TCOLE certification in July 2024 and began duty in June 2025. TCOLE certification is required for all Transit Police members.
