City and CapMetro to host community feedback event for Project Connect and the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan
AUSTIN, Texas - CapMetro and the Austin Transportation Department are partnering to host Traffic Jam! Taking It to the Streets, Wednesday, March 28, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Austin Central Library located at 710 W. César Chávez St.
Central Texas residents are invited to weigh in on two critical transportation initiatives, the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan and Project Connect, and learn about the approach agencies are taking to improve the region's transportation future. Attendees can talk with knowledgeable transportation experts, give input on proposed ideas, test concepts with hands-on activities and visit the special Join the Movement Bus. Participants will also have an opportunity to learn more about projects from other local transportation agencies and programs, such as the Mobility Authority and the City's Smart Mobility Road Map.
People are welcome to come and go at any time during the open house-styled event, and light refreshments will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to take transit to the event. Participants can plan their trips on transit at capmetro.org; the library is served by Routes 3, 111, 171 and 803. Reasonable modifications and equal access to communications, including materials in another format, are available upon request by contacting Martin Kareithi at 512-389-7583 or martin.kareithi@capmetro.org.
The Austin Strategic Mobility Plan and Project Connect are working together to help shape transportation in Central Texas for generations to come. To find out more about the Traffic Jam and agency initiatives, see AustinTexas.gov/asmp and ProjectConnect.com.

ABOUT PROJECT CONNECT
CapMetro Project Connect initiative seeks to create a system of high-capacity transit options to connect people, places and opportunities in an affordable, efficient and sustainable way. The agency is working with local organizations, stakeholders and the public to identify high-capacity transit solutions that will offer options for travel into, out of and around Central Austin.
ABOUT THE AUSTIN STRATEGIC MOBILITY PLAN
The Austin Strategic Mobility Plan (ASMP) will, for the first time in Austin's history, provide a cohesive, locally-focused strategy to address Austin's transportation challenges and opportunities. The ASMP will turn Austin's Comprehensive Plan, Imagine Austin, into actionable mobility-focused goals and objectives. Once adopted by the Austin City Council in Spring 2019, the ASMP will guide future investment, programming and policymaking, shaping Austin's transportations system for the next 10+ years.
