CapMetro to Host Open House For Project Connect Orange Line

Public input sought for High-Capacity Transit Corridor project

AUSTIN, Texas - CapMetro will host a Project Connect open house to discuss the proposed Orange Line High-Capacity Transit Corridor on Monday, April 8 from 3 to 7 p.m. The open house will be held in the Austin Central Library Special Event Center, located at 710 W. Cesar Chavez St. in Austin. The meeting will be in a come-and-go format with no formal presentation.

The first piece of CapMetro's Project Connect regional mobility vision, the Orange Line proposes congestion-proof services that operate free from other traffic. The Orange Line will be a north/south transit line along North Lamar Street, Guadalupe Street, through downtown, and South Congress Avenue. This line will provide faster, more reliable travel between and within Austin and the surrounding region.

Maps, illustrations and information about the Orange Line will be on display at the open house, and project team members will be available to answer questions. CapMetro will be joined by partner transportation agencies to answer questions about mobility programs taking shape in the city and region. Comments from the public are encouraged.

Those unable to attend the open house in person can review materials and comment online via our virtual open house, which will be available from April 9 until May 24 at  ProjectConnect.com. Individuals may also email comments to OrangeLineFeedback@ProjectConnect.com. All comments must be received by Wednesday, April 24, 2019 to be included in the public record for the open house.
