CapMetro to Unveil First Two Electric Buses
Both buses will feature artwork from students at Lee Lewis Campbell Elementary Media and Performing Arts Institute
AUSTIN, Texas - CapMetro CEO, Randy Clarke, will join Mayor Pro Tem Delia Garza and Proterra President and CEO, Ryan Popple, to celebrate the unveiling of CapMetro's first two electric buses. The buses will feature artwork by students at AISD's Lewis Campbell Elementary Media and Performing Arts Institute (Campbell Elementary).
CapMetro partnered with Creative Action to manage an artwork contest with students, grades 2-5, at Campbell Elementary. Each grade level received assignments prompting them to create art about what a healthier planet means to them. A panel of judges from arts-based organizations in the community judged the finished artwork and chose 23 student winners.
The artwork and electric buses will be unveiled at a ceremony at Campbell Elementary on Jan. 22, details below. The buses will go into regular service the week of Jan. 26th.
