CapMetro Brings Back Saturday MetroRail Service May 29

Austin FC Fans to Ride MetroRail to Games

AUSTIN, TX (May 13, 2021) – After more than a year-long hiatus, CapMetro’s MetroRail will return to Saturday service beginning Saturday, May 29.

Saturday rail service returns as the agency has received increased interest from the community for weekend rail options. The additional service will better meet the needs of the improving local economy as more weekend and public events are becoming available, providing more transportation options for employees and those who are participating in activities.

MetroRail service will begin at about 10 a.m. and operate until after midnight. There will be special service to Austin FC gamedays, including the Q2 opening event when the U.S. Women’s National Team plays Nigeria on June 16. Soccer fans are encouraged to use transit to the games, and the following routes will be most convenient:

  • MetroRail to Kramer Station
  • MetroRapid 803
  • MetroBus Route 3
  • MetroBus Route 383
  • MetroAccess

Throughout the pandemic, CapMetro has supported the community with essential trips and vital aid to Austinites and is now looking forward to returning to its original mission as well—connecting community members to people, places and opportunities.
