CapMetro Spreading Holiday Cheer across the Region

The agency is hosting several holiday-themed events and social media giveaways throughout December

AUSTIN, TX —

To celebrate the holiday season, CapMetro is inviting all Central Texans to join us for our Polar Events throughout the month of December. The agency is hosting several festive events, including music and breakfast items at various stops, fare pass giveaways on several routes, and social media contests.

“CapMetro’s holiday events are our way of saying thank you to our community,” said Dottie Watkins, President & CEO of CapMetro. “We are so incredibly grateful for this wonderful community, and we want to wish everyone in Central Texas a Happy Holiday season.”

The CapMetro festivities begin with the unveiling of our Holiday Bus on December 1st, which will be announced on all social media platforms, and that same day, we will also send our CapMetro Elves on select routes to distribute passes and swag. Our elves will also be out on December 5th, 11th, and 21st  to hand out a total of 600 weekly passes, including 500 bus passes and 100 rail passes. Keep an eye out for them!

The agency will also be kicking off a social media contest on December 4 that will run until December 31. Customers who take a selfie while riding our service and tag the CapMetro account on social media with the hashtag #CapMetroPolarEvents will be entered for a chance to win one of three prizes.

  1. Grand Prize: One yearlong Commuter Pass (good for bus and rail) worth about $495, along with CapMetro Swag and free tickets to the Paramount Theater
