CapMetro to Celebrate the new Dove Springs Pickup Zone

With this latest launch in Southeast Austin, the agency currently operates 11 pickup zones

AUSTIN, TX —

What: CapMetro is celebrating the opening of the new Dove Springs Pickup Zone, which officially launched on January 14. The agency will host a ceremony at the George Morales Dove Springs Recreation Center to celebrate the 11th Pickup Zone.

When: Friday, January 26, 2024, at 10 a.m.

Where: George Morales Dove Springs Recreation Center

  • Jeff Travillion, Travis County Commissioner and Chair of CapMetro’s Board of Directors

  • Ricardo Zavala, Founder & President of Dove Springs Proud  

Details: The launch of CapMetro’s Dove Springs Pickup Zone is another important milestone for Project Connect and for the expansion of public transportation in the Central Texas region. With this latest launch in Southeast Austin, the agency currently operates 11 pickup zones, and since its launch on January 14, The Dove Springs Pickup Zone is seeing strong ridership levels with those numbers expected to grow even more. This Southeast Austin area will also be partly serviced by the future Pleasant Valley Rapid line, which is scheduled to come into service in 2025.
