Commute with CapMetro Bikeshare in honor of Bike to Work Day
The agency is waiving bike fares on Friday, May 17, 2024
Austin, TX —
CapMetro is encouraging Central Texans to use Bikeshare on May 17, 2024, for National Bike to Work Day. With over 75 bike share stations across the City of Austin to help customers ride with ease, the agency is waiving Bikeshare fares all day on May 17 using the promo code: B2WD2024.
To join in on the fun, customers must download the BCycle app—from your phone’s app store available on iOS and Android—and create an account. From there, customers can reserve their bike using the promo code “B2WD2024” and enjoy a full day of complimentary rides. Customers can use this map to find their nearest bike station.
When choosing your bike, please note that electric bikes are white and manual bikes are red and grey.
For customers who own their bike, CapMetro’s buses and trains are equipped with bike racks to allow standard-sized bikes, including electric, to help with the first and last mile of their journey. Simply signal to the bus operator when you’d like to load and unload your bike. Customers can use our Trip Planner online to help plan their multi-modal trip.
This celebration is ahead of the anticipated program transition this summer, where CapMetro’s bike share service will get new all-electric bikes, docking stations, and a new look! If you’d like to learn more, please visit this website or join us at City Hall on May 17 for a Bike To Work Day celebration beginning at 8 a.m. CapMetro will have a table with more information about the new Bikeshare coming your way.
Please remember, when riding CapMetro Bikeshare, always be safe and wear a helmet!
