CapMetro to Resume Regular Service Wednesday, January 22
AUSTIN, Texas—CapMetro will resume normal operations for fixed-route Bus, including Flyer, Express and Night Owls, as well as CapMetro Rail, Access, Pickup and Bikeshare on Wednesday, January 22 following this week’s weather event.
CapMetro Bikeshare will resume at 7 a.m. and Pickup in Lago Vista, as well as Route 214, will begin operations at 8 a.m. The remainder of CapMetro’s services will resume operations with their normal start times.
Due to the freezing overnight temperatures, some roads may be impacted, and CapMetro may put some fixed-route services on detours. The agency continues to ask that customers be cautious of possible ice and remain patient with any delays. Customers can stay up to date on their routes by signing up for CapMetro Alerts and if they need any assistance, they can call the Customer Service GO line at 512-474-1200.
The agency will still suspend service beginning at 9 p.m. on January 21, due to the freezing temperatures, and customers should plan to take their last trips by 9 p.m.
In coordination with the City of Austin and Travis County Emergency Operations Center, CapMetro has helped transport more than 500 people to cold weather shelters during this winter weather event. The agency will continue to support shelter operations, as needed.
