We are a progressive and growing agency currently staffed with approximately 25 sworn officers, 9 telecommunications operators, and 2 professional staff members. Officers receive a $15,000 sign-on bonus

Lateral officer salaries will be determined based upon TCOLE certifications. The pay increase year over year is based on a 3% merit increase as part of our pay for performance program. These amounts change from fiscal year to year.

Officers and Sergeants may be eligible for monthly stipends based on their status as a TCOLE certified Mental Health Officer, accredited Bilingual skills, and TCOLE certification levels (Intermediate and above). Hourly time differentials include:

  • Shifts from 6PM-6AM (+$1.50/Hr)
  • Field Training Officer (+$2.00/Hr while training only)
  • CapMetro provides all necessary uniforms and equipment for Transit Police officers

We are a team of transit-dedicated police officers that know the community they serve and balance accountability with transparency during instances when law enforcement is truly needed. We build a safe system and environment by training in crisis intervention, understanding and respecting all situations and people we encounter and cultivating non-traditional policing with appropriate solutions.

Our police team facilitates and rewards officers who create community rapport and learn through trying a new way of doing things to improve customer service.
