    If you complete a preliminary application and meet minimum requirements, we'll invite you to attend one of our Prospect Days. At Prospect Day, you can ask questions and complete the subsequent steps of our application in one day without making separate trips to the department.

    Lateral officer salaries will be determined based upon years of experience and TCOLE certifications. The pay increase year over year is based on a 3% merit increase as part of our pay for performance program. These amounts change from fiscal year to year.

     

    Our Hiring Process

    The CapMetro transit police hiring process takes up to 6 months and includes a background check, interviews, tests and verifications. We encourage you to prepare by reviewing the steps of the process below.

    Step 3: Submit required Documentation and Questionnaire

    Step 4: Preliminary Background Investigation

    Step 5: Oral Board

    Step 6: Extensive Background Investigation

    Step 7: Interview with the Chief of Police

    Step 8: Medical and Psychological Examination

    Step 9: Drug and Alcohol Testing

    Step 10: Final Selection
