August 2024 Service Changes
To meet the needs of customers and efficiently use our resources, we are combining a UT Shuttle route, expanding the Pickup Leander zone, transitioning to school service on bus routes and making other minor adjustments. These changes will be implemented on Sunday, August 18.
We have recorded a presentation on the service changes. View the video here.

Combining UT Shuttles
To increase accessibility, connectivity and better fit the needs of the community, we will consolidate UT Shuttle Route 640 (Forty Acres) and Route 641 (East Campus) into one expanded campus circulator with frequency increased to every 10-minutes.
Pickup Leander Expansion
CapMetro worked closely with the City of Leander to expand the current Pickup Leander zone by 0.64 square miles in the southwest corner (view map for more info) in August 2024. The new zone includes popular destinations such as DaVita Leander Dialysis, Cedar Park Regional Emergency Center, Crystal Falls Crossing Apartments, Lakeline Apartments and Randall's.
To ensure customer satisfaction, CapMetro staff will closely monitor ridership, wait times and the overall customer experience to understand trends and mitigate any challenges as the expansion is rolled out. We will conduct a service analysis in 2025, provide updates to our CapMetro Board and update the Pickup Performance dashboard every six months.

School Service Schedules
We will begin our normal transition to school-level service on UT Shuttle routes as well as select bus routes with seasonal school trips.
Minor Schedule Adjustments
To improve on-time performance and reliability, the following routes will be adjusted.
- Route 20: Move timepoint from Airport & Manor to Manor & Randolph
- Route 339: Move timepoint from Loyola to Tuscany Way & 290
- Two additional southbound Rapid stations
To optimize performance on Pickup, we are making minor boundary adjustments to four zones (East Austin, Dessau, Walnut Creek and North Oak Hill).
