Proposed August 2025 Service Changes
CapMetro makes planned changes to our service three times a year to improve your riding experience and respond to shifts in how our customers use the service.
The proposed major service changes for August 2025 include combining UT Shuttle Routes 670 Crossing Place & 671 North Riverside, extending Route 483 Night Owl Riverside to the airport and minor schedule adjustments. If approved by the CapMetro Board, these changes will start on Sunday, August 17 with Route 483 Night Owl Riverside adjustments starting Monday, August 18.

Extension of Route 483 Night Owl Riverside to the Airport
The proposed extension to the Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) would improve late-night connections to the airport and the Riverside area, both areas with late-night ridership. Community feedback has demonstrated strong interest in additional airport connectivity and this extension provides an opportunity to close a gap for late-night travelers, employees and customers.

Combination of UT Shuttle Routes 670 Crossing Place and 671 North Riverside
The proposed combination allows for higher frequency and more efficient service while maintaining full connectivity and removing a one-way loop that causes delays and traffic problems. All existing stops would still be served with regular service and the total travel time would only change slightly. This plan is based on what we learned from successfully combining UT Shuttle Routes 640 & 641.

Routine Transition to School Service & Minor Adjustment to UT Shuttles
Typical transition to normal service levels would occur on UT Shuttle routes and school-trips on Routes 4, 217, 315 and 333. School trips will not return on Route 337 because Rapid 837 stops at LBJ High School.
To increase transit access during UT orientation and other prerequisite activities, we would provide UT Shuttle service during the week of transition between the Summer and Fall semesters. Service during this week will operate every 35 minutes from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Minor Schedule Adjustments
To improve on-time performance and reliability, select routes may receive minor adjustments to their schedules and/or bus stop locations. Minor schedule adjustments entail small tweaks to timepoints, layovers, bus stops, travel times and/or similar items to support day-to-day service.
Minor schedule adjustments are determined later in the service changes process to accurately respond to evolving traffic conditions and construction. This timing makes sure the schedule best serves customers, more closely reflects available resources and improves on-time performance. The details of these schedule adjustments will be posted on the webpage once available.
