Summer 2024 Approved Service Changes
CapMetro makes planned changes to our service three times a year to improve your riding experience and respond to shifts in how our customers use the service.
These changes will improve on-time performance and efficiency, transition UT routes to summer service and suspend school trips from select routes for summer service. These approved changes will be implemented on Sunday, May 26 with UT routes transitioning at the end of the Spring Term on Thursday, June 6.

Summer Service
We will transition to summer-level service on all the UT Shuttle routes at the end of the Spring Term on Thursday, June 6.
School Trips Evaluation
On select bus routes, a school trip extends the route path during limited times to pick-up and drop-off students and personnel close to their schools.
CapMetro identified opportunities to improve the school trips to increase usage and better
serve students and families. Therefore, we are retaining all school trips. These school trips will be suspended for summer service on May 26 and will return in the fall, as normal:
- Route 4 (7th Street) to Austin High School & the Liberal Arts and Science Academy (LASA)
- Route 217 (Montopolis Feeder) to Allison Elementary School
- Route 315 (Ben White) to Small Middle School
- Route 333 (William Cannon) to Perez Elementary School
- Route 337 (Koenig/Colony Park) to LBJ Early College High School
CapMetro will continue to evaluate and monitor school trip usage on an ongoing basis.
Minor Schedule Adjustments
To improve on-time performance and reliability, the following Bus schedules will be adjusted:
- Route 5: Move timepoint from Chicon to Leona
- Route 350: Minor schedule adjustments
