AUSTIN, TEXAS - With the first University of Texas home football season starting again this Saturday, CapMetro reminds Longhorn fans that transit provides alternatives to gameday traffic congestion and high prices for parking. CapMetro also offers a safe ride home after a fun day at the tailgate.
We have six routes that operate every 15 minutes, seven days a week serving the UT campus: Routes 6, 7, 10, 18, 801 & 803. Two of those routes (Routes 7 & 10) will operate on a detour on gamedays. Customers may catch their bus at any CapMetro bus stops along the detoured route.
A bus pass costs $1.25 one way/$2.50 round trip and can be purchased on board or with the CapMetro App. UT students, faculty and staff ride for free with a valid school ID. Students 18 and younger with a school ID ride at a reduced rate, and children five and younger accompanied by an adult ride for free.
CapMetro also offers MetroRail service on Saturdays from 4 p.m. until midnight, with easy connections from MLK Station to the stadium area via Route 18 MLK/Enfield. A one-way trip on MetroRail costs $3.50, and a Day Pass $7.
