    Lateral officer salaries will be determined based upon years of experience and TCOLE certifications. The pay increase year over year is based on a 3% merit increase as part of our pay for performance program. These amounts change from fiscal year to year.

     

    Our Hiring Process

    The CapMetro transit police hiring process takes up to 6 months and includes a background check, interviews, tests and verifications. We encourage you to prepare by reviewing the steps of the process below.

    Step 1: Submit application

    Step 2: Prospect Day

    Step 3: Submit required Documentation and Questionnaire

    Step 4: Preliminary Background Investigation

    Step 5: Assessment Center or Oral Review Board

    Step 6: Extensive Background Investigation

    Step 7: Interview with the Chief of Police

    Step 8: Conditional Offer of Employment

    Step 9: Medical and Psychological Examination

    Step 10: Drug and Alcohol Testing

    Step 11: Final Selection

We build a safe system and environment by training in crisis intervention, understanding and respecting all situations and people we encounter and cultivating non-traditional policing with appropriate solutions.
