Access is a demand-response, shared-ride service for people whose disabilities prevent them from riding our other bus and rail services. Access service complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).

Access Service Areas
CapMetro Access provides paratransit service to complement CapMetro's fixed route bus system with comparable hours, days and service area. CapMetro Access service area is provided within ¾ of a mile of CapMetro's regular fixed route services. "Paratransit" refers to transit that is parallel in service to fixed-route bus service. Fixed route service changes that impact the service area, days of service, or hours of service will directly affect CapMetro Access' service area, service days and service hours.

CapMetro Access passengers must be certified through the in-person eligibility process. You must complete both parts of this application in order for CapMetro to review your qualifications.

Purchase your fare
These are the ways you can purchase your CapMetro Access fare:
- Spare Pay in the CapMetro Access app (Download in Google Play Store and Apple App Store) lets you pay fares automatically by securely enrolling a credit or debit card. This is recommended for riders who primarily use CapMetro Access.
- The Umo app lets you pay fare from your phone and is recommended for riders who use a combination of Access and other CapMetro services. You can purchase single-ride and monthly passes in the Umo app.
- Purchase 10-Ride booklets in person at H-E-B. The Transit Store sells 10-ride booklets and monthly passes. You can also get digital monthly passes in the Umo app or online at the CapMetro Marketplace.
